Currently, I am working with the Oregon Woodland Cooperative, performing test distillation for them.
I have posted some distillation tidbits on our Facebook page, along with some photos.
To date, I have distilled:
Douglas Fir
Noble Fir
Grand Fir
Incense Cedar
Ponderosa Pine
We also plan to distill many other things found growing in the understory of the Northwestern Forests.
Salal, ceanothus, various mosses and lichen, and whatever else is brought to me. This is a very interesting project, a cooperative venture among small woodlot owners, large lot owners, Christmas tree farmers and more. The goal is to produce value added products. Already, the Coop has managed to sell bundled fire wood locally through high end grocery stores.

How are these experiments going? Need any perfumer reviews of materials obtained? I'd love to sniff them.
